SXSW Goods for Hashrocket & Cliqset

So even though Halftone Def didn’t grace SXSW with our physical presence this year, we will be there in limited edition design. Our good buddy Dennis from Thought & Theory and currently HASHROCKET hit Halftone Def up to do a limited run poster for them to hand out to a select few at SXSW and The good Folks at CLIQSET also hit Halftone Def up about a month back to make a VOLTRON inspired shirt for them to hand out. We didn’t print these though thank gawd, as you can see they were pretty complex with lots of colors and they were a run of 200. But thanks to Dan @Vivid Images we got that part handled! Until next SXSW next year -TRON OUT!
Some Picture Books for the Weekend!

So Kendrick and I took advantage last week of a 1/2 off sale upperplayground.com was having to benefit HAITI and got some Books, Threads, and a Belt Buckle at a great price. I was responsible and got books, the picture kind cause you know I can’t read, and Kidd some duds. Morning Breath Studios is one of my fav Design Duo’s of all time hailing from NY and Micheal Sieben just has one of the most original styles and sense of humor you will ever find. Plus both come from a skateboard background like myself so I can relate. Check them moth out if you can you won’t be disappointed!

Finally got to see my good friend and fellow Designer @jonani tonight over dinner drinks while she is home for the holidays. Joanna works at Ted Perez and Associates in Los Angeles as a Designer and Artist. Aside for the Earthquakes, Fires, and Traffic… Im truly jealous of her job she has out there. They do what we all dream of which is designing and building websites for Movies and Video Games ect. When she handed me this Super thick stock, all type, letter pressed business card I nearly shit myself. It is probably the most beautiful all type business card I have ever seen. So majestic in all its simplicity. Kudos to Alex Rinker for the design on this one, Im feeling it!

FRIENDSPIRATION – CMYKaren’s Drunk Book

These illustrations were a collaboration of Karen Kurycki and Ashley Hazen for a book entitled “Things Drunk People Say.” It is a collection of snippets of drunken conversations illustrated by a handful of different artists. FRIENDSPIRATION – Kendrick Kidd BBQ Sauce

Here’s a peek at a packaging project that is currently in the works for Saltwater Marsh Bar-B-Q from my Halftone Def Partner in crime Mr Kendrick Kidd. He says “small group of Florida students have been contemplating their own line of Bar-B-Q sauces & needed a little help with the branding portion of thier project. Their open minds, motivation & enthusiasm have made the labeling work a lot of fun… I don’t think I’ve ever met a group students that have been more organized & on top things… it’s great!” I can’t wait to see how this thing turns out! I love the yellow jackets yellow jacket!
